The below is from our moderator (taken from the first post of the thread - bolding is mine). Feel free to add more if necessary / as needed.

Happy 2014!

Please use this thread to post or to follow Economy Fares which are 'Good Deals' but where the cost per mile is more than 3-4 cents per mile, which is the usual upper limit for what is considered a true 'MR Deal'.

A few requests for posting in the thread:

-members posting their deals please post the city pairs/airport codes and pricing in the body of the post and not just in the post title as it isn't visible for those reading it on mobile devices (ETA: ...or in email alerts)

-some members may be unaware that you can subscribe to this thread and to do that you can go to "Thread Tools" at the top of the thread and click on "Subscribe to this thread".

Available in most of November. Two night stay required. Consider China VISA cost for US Citizens if you don't have one.
Or consider the 72 hour visa free option for US citizens at PEK

But only if you can work your routing to depart to a 3rd country--not the US and not China.

Can someone recommend a way to make about 5.5K EQM on UA this December, preferably from WAS? I know December is a tough time (and it has to be after 15th - tougher still) - all ideas would be appreciated.

BWI-LAS is $300 roundtrip, if you spend 1 night in LAS (or take a red-eye back). Connect via LAX on the outbound and you should be able to get close to 5.5K.

IAD-SFO-MRY is doable as a same-day turn, for approx. $320 and gives 5.9K EQM with 500-minimums. Other airports in California where you connect via SFO work too, like RNO, BUR.

DCA-ORD-SJU is 5368 miles r/t for $350. Also doable as a same-day turn.

These are all available during the week of Dec 15.

MSP-PHX (and reverse) as low as $119 on several carriers, $167 on DL. Fall dates. Do calendar search on ITA for Oct and Nov.

Thanks for posting this. I arrived home 10 mins before the sale ended, did a quick check of hotel prices, and booked a two night SEA trip in October to visit friends.

These look good, but I am not getting the same prices. For example - how do you find the BWI-LAS at $300? I'd take that one, but the best I see is $390

google flights and matrix ITA calendar searches are your friends. if you cannot find it i recommend contacting a travel agent.
