TK: ORD-IST-SIN $951 (W fare is nil accrual on UA/A3; 4.38 cpm)

I'm new to the posting, but was messing around and found this fare for $951, which nets 21714 miles in a weekend, leaving Friday 11/22 and returning Monday 11/25 on Turkish Airlines

There are many other days if you'd like to make a longer trip out of it as well.

W fare earns nothing on UA MP.

What a shame, doesn't accrue anything on A3, either. It'd otherwise be a nice, compact *G run.

I've found this fare too and already reserved an itinerary. TK is nice enough to let me reserve free of charge for 72 hours before purchasing. I'll earn 100% of the miles with TK. Many dates are available in Feb, Mar, Apr, May 2014 but you have to play around with the dates to get the fare this low. In fact this is the lowest I've seen in years for this route. At least a low fare that still earns 100% of the miles on the operating carrier. There might have been lower fare but it's not always possible to earn 100%.

W is 100% to Turkish own program, right?

right, unless it's a promotional fare, which usually has "PRO" in the fare basis.

I've booked this fare ORD-IST-ORD on TK for Feb-May 2014 in booking class W.

Just to clarify on the fare rules, I called TK and talked to agent and I was told the following regarding booking class W:
-nonrefundable just in case you want to cancel your trip
-changeable just in case you want to change travel date: 100 euro penalty, 40 usd service fee, and fare difference
-9362 miles each way (that looks like about 85% of the actual miles flown), applied to Miles & Smile

For a fare this cheap, the rules are not bad. Change penalty is comparable to that on SQ, OZ, NH but cheaper than UA. I'm a little disappointed that it's not 100% of the miles flown but for the ORD-SIN route, it's exactly what I'd get if I took CX.

gcmap.com calculated the distance between ORD and SIN at 9357 miles, so I think that's why you're getting what you're getting. TK counts "the actual distance between the departure and arrival points" (from their M&S FAQ) rather than the distances of the individual segments flown.

So how about a Turkish coded flight that is operated by Lufthansa, in W class? Any UA credit there?

Is that itin possible? Miles are earned based on operating carrier. Also depends what fare class it would be in LH

Is a stopover in IST permitted on this fare? I would need around ten days.

Interesting! That must explain the discrepancy. Because the agent did tell me on the phone that I'd get 100% of the miles and so does their website and yet when I calculated according to gcmap.com, it was not 100%.

So in the end, I shall get 100% for W booking class on TK.

Thanks.

sometimes you can call TK and for very little extra money upgrade the fare class to a class that gets miles on UA..

Correct.

For example, for travel this fall....

TK (LAX-IST-SIN-IST-LAX):

TK: US$ 1029.58 (W class, lowest rate, no mileage accrual in MP)
TK: US$ 1210.58 (V class ~24518 EQMs, eligible for mileage accrual in MP, 4.94¢ per mile)

In relation to UA (LAX-NRT-SIN-NRT-LAX): midweek travel (NB: no weekend surcharge on TK)

UA: US$ 1127.70 (K class 17558 EQMs, 6.42¢ per mile)
