Thanks for the tip. I was going to book a CPH-ORD, and booked a CPH-MUC-ORD-IAH-GIG return trip for €850 in stead. That gives me around 23000 miles (eb points 4.9cpm).
I have one overnight in ORD on the way over, and 3 on the return.
I'm flying LH over the pond both ways.

I've just returned off one of these trips, although I chose the business first Z fare option (still a good fare at £2305 for 31,438 miles routing LHR-MUC-ORD-IAH-GIG-IAH-ORD-stopover-LHR).
This fare is still available until at least May from LHR and several other locations in Europe (FRA-GIG is €755, LHR is £755) so will probably repeat the trip in the New Year, using GPU's to upgrade and go down to Iguassu Falls.
Used the free stopover on the way back in ORD to fly a combination three more itins, two of which were MR's published on this board. Clocked up a total of 52,424 PQM's with 85% of the flying in F or BF at a net cost of 9.6 cpm.

ITA is showing BRU-EWR-GRU / GRU-EWR-BRU for $781-815 for many dates in November (albeit in K and not a GPUable V), however I can't get it to price out anywhere.
THe BRU-EWR and EWR-BRU is showing as Lufthansa Codeshare, obviously operated by United. Maybe has something to do with it.

I tried this at €805:
Nov 13 BRU-MUC
Nov 13 MUC-EWR
Nov 14 EWR-IAH
Nov 14 IAH-GRU
Nov 16 GRU-EWR
Nov 18 EWR-BRU
You can experiment with MUC if you want to fly tatl with LH, and IAH if you want more miles.
