OK, bit the bullet and picked up 2/15-17. What is the best airport hotel (free transport) for my 12 hrs on the ground?

Will have ~1.5 hrs to connect to KC from EWR if I go with *A. Any experience with immigration lines in Newark? Non US citizen/resident here.

Oh, common Dr, you are Hyatt Diamond, go to the Park Hyatt and ask for day stay with Turkish spa access...and then write for us about it here...

Yes, you did, but you should NOT pay it. You should give the driver 20 Euros. If he would make a scene, you should ask for the Police and ask then to call the hotel (which taxi belonged too).

I would also contact hotel and request the refund, did you take the receipt?

It pisses me off when it is happening not because of few bucks but because it insults my intelligence.

Nice work; glad I could help. I am jealous.....

In FCO, Alitalia gives a pretty darn nice amenity pack when you ask to use the showers. Still have the nice can of shaving cream and using it still from my last IST run. I also liked the Italian beer they served.

Thank you very much for the extra tip, I love to take showers. AirFrance in CDG has L'Occitante... Great Stuff. Thanks again

The Cistern was in "From Russia With Love"

Personally, I liked the Spice Market better than the more touristy Grand Bazaar. It is best to stay in the old town for such a short visit as there is not much to see in the new town that you cannot see in almost any major European city...

We did Istanbul for a mileage run and stayed 3 nights as long as we were there. Definitely stay in the OLd Town in one the boutique hotels.
And we took the best tour we have ever had.
it is called The Other Tour and it is the most amazing tour for seeing the non tourist side of Istanbul. The guides are wonderful and there is even lunch in one of their homes and a trip to the Turkish baths. It is expensive but really worth it. We highly recommend it if you have a whole day and want to get the most out of Istanbul.

Sounds like fun. Could you share the website and possibly itinerary?
