When does that ever occur???
Isn't it the height of the tourism season, so there's more demand going north than south? Maybe some people want to stay for a few weeks as opposed to a quick turn?

VX just launched the route with $99 ANC-SFO ow fare. They have more traffic going north since they have a customer base in SFO. Going south, they are trying to build their following. UA is matching that match

Just booked Alaska Airlines LAX-ANC-LAX $306 a/i for Labor Day weekend. Cheaper $276 a/i also available. Great fare - search for late August dates.

The AirTran A+ frequent flyer program rewards credits on a per segment basis, so miles flown and cents per mile calculations are irrelevant when it comes to progrm achievement.

DFW-DEN-ANC-DEN-DFW on Frontier in September $438 AI. Not excellent, but not terrible.

Hadn't seen this thread before

It's a great idea as some routes are expensive and never become mileage runs. Thx for switching this post over to it.

Now the question is where to stay as SJD is such a ripoff for hotels. Maybe La Paz - rental cars are $4 a day - really.... Similar fares on other airlines but not quite so good.

Looks like the first of the matches of the WN sale announced today. Dates/days of week match perfectly. Keep an eye out for more.

Perhaps only obliquely applicable, just received an email from JetBlue that appears to be reacting to Southwest's "Mexico and the Caribbean" sale initiated a few days ago, though B6's sale is wrapped in vacation packages. Perhaps only relevant as an indicator of willingness to go up against Southwest.

ZFV to YVR Through EWR/SFO 6730 $417 6 c/m

Found a flight in November for 6,730 miles at $417. There seems to be a lot of availability in November/December, but the fares are good until April 2014.
