  • Fare feels too good to be true? Don't call the airline!!!!!!
  • Double check that the fare is actually in Business or First as some online search engines or OTA's confuse booking classes on some airlines.
  • Post as many details as possible about the First / Business fare, including fare class, fare basis, one-way / roundtrip, sales channel, sample dates & total price, including taxes.
  • Post the details within the thread itself and not in the post title field as any information typed here cannot be seen by members accessing the thread using mobile devices.
  • Refrain from posting fare requests or engaging in off topic debates such as fare trends, specific aircraft configuration or visa requirements
  • The deeply discounted international fares discussed here are almost always specific to a certain country of origin, so don't ask if it works in reverse (e.g. a SFO-LHR-SFO fare usually won't work LHR-SFO-LHR). Domestic fares more commonly work in reverse.
  • Last, but not least, Don't call the Airline!

If you reread my post carefully your question will be answered. You don't need an OTA or Matrix.

SFO-SJO / SFO-GUA $800-$850ish in F

United has some very reasonable P fares for travel from California to Central America. Plenty of availability in July/August. Route via IAH,EWR,ORD,WAS. Examples:

Costa Rica: SFO-EWR-SJO-EWR-SFO $810 ai. 9532 base miles, 14298 RDM/EQM with 50% bonus for P fare.

Guatemala: SFO-EWR-GUA-EWR-SFO $847 ai. 9232 base miles, 13848 RDM/EQM with 50% bonus for P fare.

The premium above the cheapest economy ticket is only $150-$300 on many days.

I read it carefully. It didn't say it can only be booked via a TA. I don't have a TA, so wanted to find out if there was an OTA that could price it out, as I tried about 5 without luck. I also figured Matrix could pull up all fares, whether or not they need to be booked via TA.

Certainly not flat bed but looks reasonably comfortable, much better than any PE/WTP product that it prices out against.

Forgot to add stopovers seemed to be allowed without charge, so you could spend some time in wonderful, culturally enthralling Vietnam ........ and then go to Australia.

^ Now that's a deal.

The flight from AMM to KUL stops in BKK. If you can build a stopover in then this would be worth 620TPs.

Greedy

I tried to engineer a BKK stop on the 1200 LHR HKG ticket last year, but no go. At least, no go at sensible prices.

ITA is showing the Paris BKK fare at 1106 through to at least March, but it's not obvious how to book it.

The funny thing is that the fare rules for the KUL say HIP check can be ignored but stopovers don't seem to work. Also, it states there should be no YQ if ticketed by RJ, yet there is YQ.

CDG-BKK shows up at ~1590 euro on RJ.com, but errors out on Orbitz. Haven't tried other OTAs.
