US: WAS-MEX $170, 3.3cpm

I'm seeing WAS - MEX via CLT on US Airways available for $170 (3.3cpm) this fall with a 1 night stay. $218 if you want to stay longer.

This looks to be bookable @ ~$220ai....^

I would guess you found the $170 on ita, and that the Mexico taxes are not be added to some of the results....

Tempted but wife would freak with all the violence in Mexico. When viewing the State Department travel advisory, it does not look that appealing. Should I try and sell this to the wife? What to do while in MEX? IS IT SAFE? We've been to Tijuana and it didn't really leave a good impression of Mexico on us.

Mexico City is a great part of Mexico, I've been there twice this year to visit friends and found it to be very cosmopolitan, with plenty of Museums, fine dining, and historical sights. Accomodations and food were a great value. The locals who I all met said it was the safest part of Mexico as the city has been managed well over the last few years and crime has really been cut down. As you can see from the State Department Advisory, no warnings are in effect for Mexico City. The most danger I felt while there is crossing the street, no one follows traffic regulations there at all. Stay within the areas such as the Centro Historico, Polanco, Condesa, Coyoacan, and the Reforma area, and you should be fine.

Let me know if you need any suggestions for sights if you do decide to visit...I'd definitely jump on this if I had more vacation time.

For example, ticket price is $400, flight mileage is 1000 miles for a RT, with this promotion, how many EQM you will get?

(1000+400)X2?
or
1000X2?
or 1000 + 400X2?

Thanks.

If you're concerned...don't go to visit...go for the mileage earning opportunity. Then again, that may be hard to explain going through customs

I have never had any difficulty going through customs on any of my international turn around runs.
