My limited research is showing this fare available nearly everyday (not limited to mid-week travel) in January - March (didn't check other months), BUT the requirement to get this low fare appears to be 10 days minimum before returning. I.E. 1/10 - 1/20 works, 2/12 - 2/22 works, 3/4 - 3/14 works, etc... Go under 10 days and the price jumps to $5k+.

Nonetheless, it's a great find.
Only at IRROPS you end up in Y? Or also with aircraft changes?

10-day min. is the issue. Thanks! Could be interesting.

Did not actually read the fare rules, (like most people I think) but this is interesting.

Wonder if they would actually could deny you a business class seat... My tickets now say booked in class S.

On the website you actually book business class no where is mentioned that this an economy upgrade. Is this in line with the regulation?

Just wondering...

It does sound a bit "too good to be true" to me...

Now seeing $1711 MSP-MAD, $1907 MSP-PRG and $1926 MSP-STR for dates that I checked in April and May. I had checked MAD and PRG an hour ago and they were all $5K+ back then.

It's a very common practice ... United, Asiana, Delta, and more all do it. I think that the main impetus is to sell the J/F cabins with much tighter capacity controls (by requiring that inventory in both be available at the time of booking). I have heard some horror stories of people being rebooked into Y in the event of irrops with Y-up, Q-up, etc. fares, but in practice it's extraordinarily rare ... it's not something that I would worry too much about.

Another advantage of these Y-up fares is that intra-European flights usually do not even have a business class. So you're not overpaying for real J while sitting in Y anyway. @:-)

This books into S-class and they will reaccomodate in business, even during irops. Of course if they need to downgrade because of irops or changes to metal you will probably be the first one to get an op down, but how often does this happen? If you book on Delta.com you are pretty save. It's not a regular YUP like you see for domestic segments.
