I just booked IAH-JMH from the negotiator a few minutes ago. paid 501 for labor day, incl a $25 premium for a shorter layover than a 3 hr that was offered.

Yeah, be very careful booking flights at united.com. This week, I discovered that it doesn't necessarily display all UA's nonstop flights if you do an "anytime" query for a certain day. I mean how awful is that? Like you're looking to buy an evening nonstop flight and you do a search for all flights that day and the evening flight doesn't show up. Insanely stupid and incompetent.

What is the proper etiquette here? Are we supposed to mask even basic good deal fares?

I just was referring to it because I think it is a humorous marketing statement that most MR forum readers understand, and it is sort of an ironic twist due to the YQ reputation.
In all honesty, I purchased the fare after it had been pulled from the GDS, and I was noting a single website who was still selling it as the others had updated to the current pricing at that time. Depending on luck, the fare, or phases of the moon, different fares are updated on different sites at different times. I bought my last HNL deal ('09 UA low 200s ai jumbo) in the same way (after the GDS pull), but with a different website that had updated pricing earlier in this case.

Edit to add: If you follow the thread, my post on priceline was after the fare was pulled; the fare itself while alive was available everywhere (plus shown on travelz), so nothing was masked about the fare itself.
