For the benefit of others not wasting time, this fare is the one-way price. Unlimited stopovers are subject to HIP checks and thus a stopover is not free at NRT.

LAX-RAR on NZ in C for $793 o/w. Limited time only, this link refers to the Y fare (with no mileage accrual) but search for the dates brings up C fares too and no mention that those dont accrue mileage.

You can stretch it a bit with the following routing/flights:

DL 172 D MNL→NRT 744
DL 296 D NRT→SEA 330
DL4711 F SEA→SLC CR9
DL2241 F SLC→LAX 738

USD 1873.60 (all-in, ticket booked & issued in USA)

For $600-$700 more, I think I'd do the RT. Not a superb price, but not too bad, these days for Asia-USA Biz.

NAN (Nadi, Fiji) - LAX USD$1,750 return (all in) in Biz

Not a mileage run or a mistake fare but a good business class fare from Fiji to LAX on Air Pacific.

It appears this fare works on Tuesdays/Wednesdays departing Fiji and Wednesdays/Thursdays departing LAX.

Can this be done with a stopover in SLC?

Can't resist going OT -- I could not disagree more IMHO, A-Team is one of the best TV-to-film adaptations in a long time. It may also be the most enjoyable -- and truest to the spirit of the original -- resurrection of an 80s property that I've seen.

Not really. I looked at doing NZ to RAR last year for my honeymoon. You can only take the LAX-RAR non-stops on the 767 so no lie-flat seats. The price isn't bad but just take into account it is ~10 hour flight in recliner seats.

Could be worth booking one-way, hoping for a schedule change, and then pushing to get re-routed LAX-AKL-RAR. Might be cheap way to get to NZ to start a prime FEB trip.

The A Team was one of my teenage staples. I watch all sorts of half-assed movies when I'm bored, but I almost walked out of this one. I just disappointed me, what can I say?

As for the stopover, if you take the DL flights, I think you can connect in SLC, but I'd be surprised if a stop didn't trigger a much higher ticket price. One way to find out, I guess.

Unless they have changed their seats recently (went in 2007), their J seats are pretty old and not that different from regular long-haul Y. Maybe slightly larger and the pitch a tad more than Y but thats about it.

how are the 767 BF seats to RAR? Any idea on the likely hood of sched changes to re-route to AKL-RAR?
