AA: JFK-HKG $597 ai

Hat tip to airfarewatchdog:

http://www.airfarewatchdog.com/blog/...-to-hong-kong/

Don't see too many possible dates at fares anywhere near this other than the one they provided. Though, this is on AA flight numbers all the way through, so ~17k eqms.

Roughly 3.1 cents per EQ mile. Plus a week's worth of hotel costs.

TICKETS MUST BE ISSUED ON/BEFORE 04JAN 10.

PERMITTED MON THROUGH THU ON EACH TRANSPACIFIC SECTOR.
TRAVEL FROM INBOUND TRANSPACIFIC SECTOR MUST COMMENCE NO EARLIER THAN 3 DAYS AFTER DEPARTURE OF THE FIRST INTERNATIONAL SECTOR.

Q fares: on JL earns only .7 rdm, but 1.0 EQM; on CX earns nothing, nada, zip.

Slight clarification... you earn 1 EQM for each RDM you earn, not 1 for each mile flown.

For all the dates I've searched, I've gotten everything on AA metal and AA codeshares, so those should earn just like AA flights, 100%. I searched and held my reservation on AA.com though. Are you finding the system offering you non-codeshare flights?

I looked at March and April, and for Mon and Thu flights, they are showing JAL and CX flight numbers. Only on Tues and Wed are they showing AA flight numbers. Which dates did you search?

I have one of these on hold. Any ideas on how to parlay this into a convenient/cheap vaca, preferably to somewhere in SE Asia? I was recently in HKG and have no particular interest in spending more time there. Thanks to the NRT curfew, the flight times makes it such that one would probably need a night in HKG on both the front and the back end of this.

Thanks. Read the chart wrong. They list 1 EQP per mile earned so I'm guessing that the .7 refers to both rdm and eqm?

Short Turn.. Leave Feb 22 / Retun Feb 25
But NRT-HKG are on JL/CX codes
597... all AA codes seem to require a decent stay in Hong Kong... Also, It is a good opportunity to try the JAL lounges in NRT...
