Internet stations at ORD - do they exist?
 

I'm leaving my laptop at home (already have a netbook I have to lug back from Sweden). I have a four-hour layover in ORD, so I was hoping to find an internet station somewhere in the airport. I've never seen one before, but I was hoping I was looking in the wrong place.

Worst-case scenario, how much is the business center at the O'Hare Hilton?

i may be mistaken sincei h aven't been through ORD in a while, but i think they provide boingo for internet access (probably $7 for 24 hours)

I've never seen one, either, not since Laptop Lane closed. Boingo is indeed the wifi provider, and the Hilton does have a business center -- which I imagine is breathtakingly expensive. Might be worth a call to see how expensive: (773) 686-8000.

I just need about 2 hours' diversion before my connecting TATL flight, on which I will spend the whole time studying my eyelids.

Edited to add: Just called the hotel. It is run by the UPS Store now, and no one is there until 6:30am.

They have , scattered throughout various terminals i-net kiosks that share w/pay phones- think they are $5 for 15 minutes. If you are Admiral's club member their club their has stations.

Scattered is too nice of a word. It's more like two stations per terminal (excluding Terminal 5). $6.95 for 15 minutes or $22/hr! :eek: To make things even more fun, the unused time is not refundable.

The computer stations at the Hilton O'Hare are just as expensive.

Contrast that to ARN, which gives you an hour of internet time for about $4, and the time is usable over the course of one week at any Sidewalk Express internet terminal in Sweden.

Just one additional thought....Some airline clubs offer day passes. They range in price and I recall I've seen $40, but you can get free wifi, drinks, and food for that amount - in a fairly quiet place - so it might be worth it.
