Ann Arbor, MI, hotel info needed

Hello everybody,

once again I need some help.

Does anyone know a good hotel in Ann Arbor.
We want to visit a good friend of mine who is at the U of Michigan.
It seems that there is only the choice between a Mariott Courtyard and a Holidy Inn .

I have a second question, does someone know a good Inn or B&B on the way from Chicago to Ann Arbor? We are willing to drive a longer way for a good stay.

I know these questions look like they are not apropriate for the Luxury Hotel forum, but it seems that there is no Luxury Hotel in Michigan.

Greetings from Germany,

Stayed at the following one recently and was pleasantly surprised about the room quality. They even had Voss water in the room:

Still not a hotel that deserves to be mentioned under "Luxury Hotels"

Viel Spaß !

The best hotel in the area is the Campus Inn. It is not a chain, however. Very close to all of U of Michigan:http://www.campusinn.com/
The decor is a bit dated, but it's clean and comfortable.

A nice Bed and Breakfast Option is: The First Street B & B

Bon voyage and enjoy your trip.

Holiday Inn North was built to Marriott standards and runs a free shuttle van,
there also is a motel cluster south of Ann Arbor near the Briarwood Mall....

As to an Inn / B & B, I'd suggest looking in Marshall, Michigan, an interesting historic (by our standards) town just of I94 about half way between Chicago and Ann Arbor....

and you might want to think about taking Amtrak.

The Marriott in Ypsilanti is not luxury, but it's very nice. It's on a golf course, and right off the highway, so it's a quick trip in to Ann Arbor.

Hello everybody,

thank you for your help.
In Ann Arbor every room is taken due to a football game.
So we stay at a friends house.
On the way from Chicago to Ann arbor we will stop in Marshall, special thanks to BoBH, we booked a room at the National Inn.

Greetings,
