Chicago overnight parking

Hi. I am staying in Hilton Palmer House (17 East Monroe Street) for 3 nights in September and looking for advice on cheap overnight parking near it. I've found very nice website (http://www.chicagoparkingmap.com) but couldn't find any rate information for nearby parking.

Define: "cheap", "near", and the time in/out each day.

Well, hotel charges 35 per day, so anything below that is good :) I don't know if Chicago has special overnight rates, but i've seen some parking in SF has flat rate for parking from 9pm to 9am around 10 bucks. This is very reasonable and i'm fine with such hours. Close means within a reasonable walking distance, say 5-10 minutes.

Check into the PH and then drive south a couple blocks until you're south of Congress. There are several lots down there - try heading West on Harrison - that are about $10 for overnight parking - you'll need to be out by about 8:00 am or so, however. There is also Grant Park parking, while the cost has crept up it will still be less that what the Palmer House will charge you. If you are tempted by metered parking read the signs carefully - much of that area is "zoned" parking overnight and even though the meters don't need money after a certain hour the entire block becomes available only to people with zone xxx stickers.

I live in the West Loop, 1 1/4 miles straight west of the Palmer House. You can park free on the street in front of my place and take the bus or L for $2.00, take a cab for about $5, or walk - all cheaper than overnight parking in the loop.
