Things to do in Wichita

Looks like I'll be there for a weekend coming up soon and will have some free time. Anyone have any suggestions for things to do... besides eat and drink? :D

Oh, and HI to all!! Been reading this forum since I started my life as a consultant last year, and I must say that it's about time I created an account.

The Steak and Scotch is a good place to eat. North of town on the turnpike there is a private country club golf course (don't remember the name) with a great big old brick clubhouse. The clubhouse has a few (maybe 10) overnight rooms that they rent and that gets you access to the course.

Honestly, not to much.

In all seriousness though, the Old Town area is pretty decent. Also, the Zoo is really cool.

Doghound, welcome to Flyertalk, as an active participant :),

I will move this thread to the MidWest forum where, hopefully, you will find additional answers. Thanks for your understanding.

I forgot about old town. Some good bars. My personal favorite is Emersom Bigguns.

The restaurant is called the Scotch and Sirloin, on east Kellogg. It's excellent.

We went to cowtown en route to Hutchinson to visit the Cosmosphere.
Great way to spend an afternoon.

Nope, not really. Drinking is just about it & as others mentioned Old Town is a good place to do it.

I would suggest Wild West World, which is an amusement park that just went up & opened in May. The only problem with it is that it went bankrupt & closed in July.
