Not with two consenting adults...

No smoking anywhere at ORD airside. If you want to go landside there are designated smoking areas outside away from the doors.

You get to mingle with the crowd trying to check their luggage curbside.

Ahh .. the benefits of smoking!

BTW .. it is a City of Chicago regulation (not just ORD). The American Airlines had smoking lounges in the Admirals Club and Flagship Lounge which the city made them close down.

Now you require a drag .. you gotta go landside and then come back thru security.

Hope you don't have a 35 minute connection!

As others have said, all airside smoking areas in O'Hare have been closed (the smoking room in the C17 RCC is now the "quiet" room.)

If you want smorkin', you're going to have to go to San Francisco and head to Kid Robot on Haight Street. http://www.kidrobot.com/products2.cfm?ID=5362

where the op (like myself) is a smoker, this thread of airside palces to smoke might be of interest.

The strange thing about this is, the SAS lounge in International still has its smoking room, go figure or the City does not know?

Actually (according to the announcements I hear every time), the designated smoking area is on the outside roadway of the lower level.

Private clubs and tobacco shops are still exempt from the ordinance. Which is why Marshall Mcgearty will continue to operate after the new ordinance is in full effect. As for the AC and RCC snuffing out the smoking rooms, it was their choice. In the case of the AC in particular, I suspect it was more an issue of need more space as it is terribly packed in the evenings and the smoking room was huge. While I would never condone doing so, perhaps the familiy assist washrooms will become the new smokers haven airside.
