Visiting the various lakes around Minneapolis is always fun, Nokomis, Calhoun, Harriet, Brownie, etc... There's also Minnehaha Falls. The Mill City Museum is also worth a look, I haven't actually been there to see the museum, I was there for a wedding and it seemed pretty cool. The St. Anthony Main area off of downtown is a pretty nice area to walk around and has a decent array of restaurants that cater to all tastes.
And if there wasn't any construction going on, I'd recommend going to Dinkytown by the University of MN TC campus. Tons of good food and quirky shops, but right now the construction is making it impossible. |
And don't worry about bringing cigarettes, there is enough 2nd hand smoke to cover even a 2 pack per day guy (or gal)

This thread is about killing a day in MSP, but I might kill myself is I ever had to step foot into the Mystic lake Casino again. No booze, no booze, and did I mention that they don't allow any beer, wine, or spirits onto the property. Not even BYOB! It has an exclusively over 70 clientele, everyone wearing diabetes shoes, smoking heavily, and walking so slow that i was about to push some of them down as I ran out the door to drive to a bar. The sheets on the bed have a rubber lining below them....just horrific....avoid the place like the plague...:td:
