Sorry to revive an old thread, but it's also worth checking out Revolution Brewing Company, on Milwaukee just south of Fullerton. Classic (and somewhat yuppiefied) brewpub place with the attendant burgers, salads, sandwiches, etc.
And if you don't get the bacon fat popcorn as an appetizer, you're a fool. Or a bacon hater. While it is not a brewery per se, The Publican is an excellent beer focused restaurant with in my opinion one of the best menu's in the city. Hopleaf is also a favorite of mine, but it is very far (up north) from the city center. It is definitely worth the hike though. |
I don't really care for the Publican (or Girl and the Goat). Too much pig, too much salt. My arteries can't handle it.
Bluebird, in Bucktown (same owner as the Publican), is really nice: great charcuterie plates, great food, and another great (and very Belgian-centric) beer list. |

I don't think Bluebird is the same owner as the Publican. The people who own Blackbird do own the Publican, though. Blackbird is just west of downtown. It's great, but not a beer place at all.
