How far away is this airport from hotel on Mag. Mile - any idea what a taxi fare would be or alternative options to transfer??? is it further than O Hare ?? Gwen

Took me a minute to figure out which property you meant, since "Mag Mile" officially represents a stretch of Michigan Avenue, upon which there is no Sheraton - 4 pts or otherwise (unless you count the Westin). I assume you are at the Sheraton 4 points at 630 N. Rush Street.

This is about as far from Midway as from ORD.

The cheapest way to get there is via the CTA Orange line, which you can reach directly from the Midway terminal building, just look for signs. Since it is the end of the line, you can just get on the next train since they all go in the same direction from Midway. You can transfer in the Loop to the Red LIne and get very close to the Hotel or just get off the Orange line in the Loop and walk from there if you're reasonably fit. This is the suggestion from the CTA (Ignore the times, they're just what I happened to put in to give you an idea of the total travel time):

Take CTA ORANGE LINE TRAIN
Depart: MIDWAY CTA At 03:00 PM
Arrive: ROOSEVELT CTA At 03:21 PM

Change to the CTA RED LINE TRAIN (TO HOWARD)
Depart: ROOSEVELT CTA At 03:29 PM
Arrive: GRAND CTA At 03:35 PM
Walk 0.2 mile NE to 630 N RUSH ST

$ 2.00 $ 1.00

You can also get off the CTA in the Loop and take a taxi from there for just a few bucks. A taxi all the way from Midway is going to be in the $25-30 dollar range, I would think (someone else might have a better sense, I don't take taxis in Chicago since I live here).

Yes - you nailed the hotel - got a cheap deal!! also could get a cheaper deal coming into midway than O hare - so thats great - I would normally say I was reasonable fit - but in summer temps maybe not!! think I will go to loop and taxi - Ive got all day waiting for my family to arrive!!! hoping for spg gold upgrade in the hotel - fingers crossed Thanks Gwen
