Cheap (free??) parking in the loop Sat. night??

Staying at the Hyatt tonight, looking for a place to leave my rental car.
Don't mind walking a bit, but I know that many areas have residential permits and other catches like that. So street parking would be great, if I knew where to go. If not, I don't mind paying a little, but not $24!! If needed, I can park and take the metro.....but it seems silly :)

Thanks in advance.

ps. Yes, I ran a search and not much came up....

I think you can park in many of the Loop parking structures overnight for less than $10 if you are willing to walk a few blocks. If you park earlier in the evening, it may be more expensive because of the theaters in the area, however. There are several on Lake Street (one block south of Wacker, which is the street on which your hotel is located).

Even cheaper ($0) would be for you to follow Wacker around to Lake Street and take Lake across the river to the West Loop and park on any of the streets within a few blocks (meter parking before 6 p.m. Saturday and free overnight and on Sunday). It is about a 20 minute walk back to the Hyatt (or take the Green line - at Clinton - two stops back to State/Lake, a couple blocks from the hotel). If you need more specific directions, please feel free to PM me. I live in the area.

No need: found a broken meter right next to the Hyatt ^ ^

The meter (5 min per quarter!) ran until 9 on Sat and does not run on Sunday.

Thanks anyway: priceless advice for my next trip!!
