I ate there last weekend, and I would equate it to a high-end Applebees.

High end Applebees is probably accurate.

If you are in Chicago, do yourself a favor and go to a real steakhouse, not a chain like Weber Grill. I know many of the steakhouses in Chicago can be considered "chain restaurants," but I'm willing to overlook that fact when it comes to Ruth's Chris, Smith & Wollensky, etc.

My personal new favorite is Keefer's. The Potato Croquettes are delicious!

Weber Grill is good enough food, but it's like going to Maine and eating at Red Lobster.

Here is another negative review.

I had eaten at the Weber Grill in Lombard (Oak Brook) twice since it opened, and the second time I vowed I would never go back.

Last week I was staying at the Palmer House Chicago and one of my associates convinced me to go to the State Street restaurant. Yuck!!!

Don't waste your money nor appetite. Go to Boston Blackies on East Grand, Harry Caray's on Dearborn(@ Kinzie) Ruth's Chris on Dearborn, the ORIGIONAL Morton's on North State, or just about anywhere else.

Weber makes good grills. They should leave the grilling to us!

Definitely shouldn't be considered a destination restaurant. That said, if you're staying at the HGI anyway, as I often do, it's not a bad place to eat once in a while.

I second Keefer's. Very solid.

Does anyone know what happened to the Weber Grill on Milwaukee Avenue (not sure if that's Lincolnshire or Wheeling). There's been a "moving to new location" sign up for a long time. Is another one going to open up anywhere nearby?

I third Keefer's, I love it there. Delicious food.

Also, I was at Weber Grill about two weeks ago and was not too impressed. The appetizer sampler platter was delicious, but the entree (I had some type of fish, it was a special - I forget exactly what it was, so obviously the meal was not too memorable) was pretty lackluster. The two people I went with each got steak and both said that it was nothing to write home about. There are many other places I would go in Chicago before Weber Grill, starting with Keefer's.

Also, a Capital Grille just on the other side of Michigan Ave.- very classy and traditional if not a bit too conservative.

Ruth's Chris is good but still a large chain

Webber Grill is excellent. I suggest the 8oz Filet with Garlic Mashed. The apple pie makes a great desert.

Their is also some good First Come First served stools right at the kitchen when you can watch your food get cooked

I have been to Weber for lunch a few times and think it is fine for a burger. What I really like is that I can get grilled green beans instead of fries for my side. YUM

My partner loves a good burger. As a consequence, a group went there for his birthday a few years ago in anticipation of a good burger. I have never seen someone so disappointed as he was for his birthday burger. We have not been back since and the mention of it brings angry looks.

I wouldn't bother. I was at the one in Lombard and it was awful! Overpriced.
