Winter Delays?

I was thinking about doin a trip to Hawaii from Chicago in a rtw. I will either be flying American from OGG-ORD in Summer or ORD-OGG in the winter. If I fly Chicago- Maui in the winter, is it almost a guaranteed delay?

I dont have any stats to back it up but I travel through ORD a lot and the winter is better for me than the summer. I get far more delays in the summer (storms) than in the winter but the big difference is you never know when you are going to get that big snowstorm that shuts the whole airport down for a day and screws everything up. Those news stories sure make you think the winter is the worst time to fly through ORD but winter delays have not been any worse than the summer ones.

Completely agree with what was posted, we get a lot more t-storms in the summer (though not the last few weeks...) than snowstorms in the winter. It's usually just cold and grey, though like stated above, you never know when we'll get one of those shut-the-whole-place-down storms.
