Having re-discoverd rice crispies last week (got tired of having a full English at the hotel every morning) I have to try this place :D.

I e-mailed Cereality PR - they are opening the week of the 27th.

I admit to smirking when I heard about the gimmicky Cereality, an all-cereal cafe chain "where it's always Saturday morning." Then I visited the quirky quick-service restaurant, toted blends of brand-name cereals and toppings back to my desk and realized I was smiling. Cereality may be a gimmick, but it's a good one.

Some of the combinations are tooth-rotting sweet, even before you add marshmallows, malted milk balls or the other toppings waiting to be spooned on, ice-cream-sundae style. But there are plenty of choices for those who prefer to save dessert for dinner. You could actually grab breakfast here daily and be healthier for it.

For $3.89, customers can create their own cereal blends ("your way") or order pre-selected recipes ("our way"). I opted for Cereality's Life Experience, made with Life cereal, almonds, fresh bananas and honey, which had a pleasing nutty crunch. Jump Start, a mix of Special K, Cheerios, pecans, walnuts and honey, was good, too, though it would be better topped with fresh — not canned — peaches. Bran New Day ($3.99), a smoothie made with strawberries, bananas, orange juice, vanilla low-fat yogurt and Quaker Oat Bran, was a refreshing meal in a glass.

But Überpudding ($3.49) — oatmeal and low-fat yogurt — had the flavor of pancake batter, and Key West Cooler parfait ($3.49) tasted like a Starburst run amok.

Cereality opens weekdays at 5 a.m.

I have been to the location at University of PA and its great! I ate so much cereal and it takes about 15 minutes of looking at the menu trying to figure out what to get!

I walk by this place nearly every day and have never felt the urge to stop in, maybe it's the PJs?

I stopped in once about two months ago. I paid $3.84 for an order of cheesey grits. They made them to order and still made them come out acceptable - in my experience, grits is one of those things where you generally have to make a big batch for it to come out right.

The one saving grace was that their portion was HUGE.

Would I go back? Not for cold cereal, but if I had a taste for warm oatmeal or grits for lunch, I'd consider it.

Does Cereality sell birchermuesli?

still think it's overrated, but as long as they don't start charging $10 and calling it "gourmet" I won't get hot and bothered.

that being said, I mix and match cereals almost daily, and I figure it costs about $0.50 of food. :p

If we had something like this near me, I swear I would eat there constantly. I LOVE cereal.

(Over a decade later, one of my favorite things about college is still the "wall o' cereal" that we had in our dining hall. Every flavor imaginable - boxes and boxes - I lived on cereal when I lived in the dorms!)

My husband and I love this place. It's a fun "Kitschy" type place.
