Phoenix - dim sum items - Chinatown

Met some FT'ers today at Phoenix, the ground floor restaurant.

I had never had the soup dumplings, a new experience and delicious. The combination of the steaming and the produce losing it’s moisture as the dumpling cooks, creates a soup filled dumpling. Place it on your Chinese soup spoon, poke or bite a hole in the dumpling, then drink the soup. Then a touch of red vinegar put in the opening and eat the delicious pork dumpling.

Also tried chicken feet which I had never had before as well. The smaller toe bones you were able to easily crunch and eat with the skin, but elsewhere one had to pick around the bones. Not easy to eat, but quite good, I will get again.

BBQ pork buns were just ok. Shrimp dumplings and pork dumplings were very good with large chunks of shrimp.

Wanted to but forgot to try one of the noodle dishes.

Willie,

DO NOT try the noodle dishes. You'll be disappointed.
