Coco Pazzo Cafe - Streeterville
For a reliable and affordable trattoria-style meal, Coco Pazzo Cafe on St. Clair has been a downtown standby of mine for years.
Coco Pazzo Cafe is the casual sister restaurant of the more upscale Coco Pazzo. Both are part of the Pino Luongo group of restaurants, which also includes some similar upscale-casual places in NYC. Coco Pazzo Cafe is casual and serves good Tuscan-style fare. I have had several good pasta dishes, a grilled fish dish and many appetizers (some of which are large enough for a light meal). Vegetables always seem to be fresh here, and basic components such as olive oils and herbs are of high quality. The wine list is pretty good as well -- mostly if not all Italian. I would recommend Coco Pazzo Cafe to anyone in the area around Michigan Ave. or Streeterville. Don't be fooled...it appears to be in the same building as a Red Roof Inn, but there's no connection to the budget hotel. http://www.flyertalk.com/dining/ftdi...orum/smile.gif |
