Need recommandations

Ex-Chi person. Have not been back for years. I will visit in April. Here is what I'm looking for:
Italian Beef - Loved Boston's Beef on W.Grand ave., not sure if it's still there.
Polish - Again, loved BusyBee on N.Damen ave. Still there? Also any other suggestions?
Italian - Frequented Centro on N.Wells St., also a GREEEAAATTT place on W.Lawrence ave(8000 blocks?) past Harlem ave. can't remember the name??? Rumored to be the M_B hangout :-)
Any other suggestions.
Steaks - I know all the usual suspects, any new ones I should try?
I live in paradise now, but it does lack the great choices Chi-town offers, so I really want to make the best of my return.
Thanks in advance.

No, I will be staying downtown, but willing to use CTA antwhere there is good food.
Do you know if that Italian place still exists on W.Lawrence?
Polish - I meant restaurant, not sausage. I'm looking for some home made pierogis, and some great soups.

Do you mean Boston Blackies?

For Italian Beef:
Johnnies in Elmwood Park 7500 W. North Ave.
Al’s downtown location on Ontario/LaSalle is ok for beef as it is very convenient.

Capitol Grille gets many votes by friends and co-workers. I have not been. Went to Gibson's lately but was let down w/my "chicago cut" steak.

Hope this helps, do post what you end up dining. http://www.flyertalk.com/dining/ftdi...orum/smile.gif

No, but it must be Polish, I guess I will have to visit.
Boston BB-Q Beef at the corner of Chicago and Grand avenues. The beef was sliced very thin, served on a great bread, dipped, with choice of sweet or hot peppers. Just thinking about it makes me salivate.
Thanks for all the info. I will report when I get back. If you come up with some other suggestions, please post.
