A Turkish "snack" shop

Best Turkish Foods is predominantly a small grocery store on Devon near Western Ave on Chicago’s north side that sells Turkish foods (what else ?!? http://www.flyertalk.com/dining/ftdining_forum/wink.gif ), but they do have an 8 seat coffee counter that they serve some items they call “snacks”

I had two items. One was a Soujouk sandwich. Soujouk is a Turkish beef sausage. Slices of Soujouk were put on a skewer and then grilled. The crisp pieces of soujek were then put on a Turkish bread w/chopped pickles and tomatoes. Very tasty.

I also had a Turkish Pizza. Best as I can described it was a Turkish pita sliced in half (thin wise) then smeared w/minced peppers, spices and I think lamb. The “pizza” is served w/tomato slices that I ate along with the pizza. This was good.

They served two types of kebabs (rib-eye and chicken) that I will try when I go back.

They did not speak any English here, but had a menu stand on the counter w/the snacks listed and their price.
