Des Moines - Priceline?
 

I'm going to Des Moines for the Iowa democratic caucus.

Lots of hotels are sold out. I don't want to use a car, would like to be able to walk to downtown headquarters, 14th & Locust. I have a reservation at the downtown Holiday Inn for $90.

If I select the Des Moines choice on Priceline, what is likely to come up, how far out, am I likely to beat the $90 in any meaningful way?

And, ... suggestions for meals, sights, a taste of the mid-west?
