Things to do/restaurant recommendations in Lincoln/Omaha
The next best friends road trip will spend three nights in June in downtown Lincoln as a home base (hotel rates that week in Omaha are crazy expensive with Hampton-type hotels going for $500).
We are interested in short (1-3 hours) road trips to quirky places (e.g., small town museums), restaurants (Steak, Mexican -- actual TexMex would be a plus -- Asian; we are not foodies nor into bar scenes). Can't do a lot of walking (bad knees). Already on my radar are the casinos in Council Bluffs and the Strategic Air Command Museum. Is the Mormon winter-over museum worth seeing? |

Beatrice to visit the Homestead National Monument of America, where you can learn about the Homestead Act and pioneer life on the Great Plains. Maybe Nebraska City to visit the Arbor Lodge State Historical Park & Museum too |
