Does ORD have a place like Proud Bird near LAX to grab a beer and watch planes?

You can buy a cheap ticket to a Chicago Dogs night ballgame at Impact Field in Rosemont and for the first few innings, if they're doing easterly departures, the sky overhead is full of international widebodies heading out. Beer is also available. ⚾️ 🍺 🛫

I ended up not going only because the arrivals were coming from the east and I didn't want to schlep all the way around to the other side.

You could go right in Rosemont. Lots of places to eat, drink and sit outside. Crust Brewery which used to be Hofbrau Haus.

If arrivals are coming in from the east, Wrigley Field is not a bad spot for plane spotting.

If you don't mind the planes being 2-4000 feet up, there are a couple of breweries in Ravenswood (Half Acre and Spiteful) where you can sit outside and look up as they go by. Again assuming approach from the east (rwys 9LCR/10LCR)
