Need advice: Where to meet in ORD

Tomorrow Im flying United into Terminal 1 ORD arriving at 755. Im meeting a friend flying JAL will come into terminal 5 around 1130. Well be getting an Uber to the hotel in the city. My question: where in the heck should we meet? Ill have checked luggage so I’ll have to leave the secure area. Should I grab my bag, take the tram to Terminal 5 and wait ? Seems like the options we have aren’t great so looking for some advice. Thanks.

Tram to the multi-modal facility (MMF) and Uber from there.

Uber no longer picks up at T5. They’ll fetch you at T2 (pick up spot is actually right between T1 and T2.) there’s a Hilton hotel right across from terminal one so maybe you can stop and have a beverage and then meet up at the Uber spot once your friend arrives.

Several reports that Uber/Lyft will pick up at the Multii-modal Facility (rental car complex) as well as T2. In fact, it's been suggested as the preferred pick up place.

T5 is often crowded, pre-security, without any good meeting place. I'd avoid that.

The MMF is a good suggestion. I've never been down there but presume that there's somewhere to wait and the Uber pickup is convenient.

The pickup for T1 arrivals is upper-level on the T1 side of T2. A good landmark for meeting would be the Butch O'Hare dive-bomber static displace inside T2 at the end of terminal nearest T1. That is conveniently accessed from the T2 train stop and you just walk outside the door to the Uber pickup.

The Hilton lobby bar is a good option, too. It's close to the T2 train station and Uber pickups and offers more comfortable seating with food and drink if one of you has to kill some time. If the weather is bad, use the tunnels from T1, or T2, to the Hilton without having to go outside.

I actually love the Hooters restaurant that’s just off ORD property.

The Gaslight Club in the Hilton is a one of a kind place where you can have some drinks if it is open. Sadly I think it is probably too early. But it’s the coolest place near OHare in my book, especially if they have the piano bar going.

The Hilton gym has a day rate, around $15-20, if you fancy a workout (or even just a shower). Don’t know whether they’ll watch your bag (which, if you’re checking it, is likely too big for the gym lockers).
