Midwest Luxury Spa recommendations

Hi,

I recently relocated from Boston to Cleveland (family) and am in dire need of a getaway/spa weekend...like NOW. Options are pretty slim within a 3 to 4 hour drive. Any recent feedback on Nemacolin or Glendorn (or other resort spas within the vicinity) would be appreciated.

Don't need manufactured to dos such as golf or hot air ballons or skeet shooting. Particularly this time of year, all I need is beautiful surroundings, privacy, great food, scenic hiking/biking and pampering. Oh, and dog friendly a HUGE bonus.

Nemcolin seems to have the better spa, but it seems awfully overbuilt, full manufactured fun and the rooms feel very 'Marriott' to me. Glendorn is more my style, but the spa seems quite limited (and availability is awful for last minute trips)

TIA

we just did Nemacolin last month, and while the spa was very nice, I probably won't rush back. We didn't take advantage of the "manufactured fun" either. Have you considered Walden? It's right in our backyard, and although it's been a few years since I've been, it was very good. A couple other options (although probably further than you are lookign for), is the Spa at Hotel Hershey (one of our favorite Spas anywhere), and Skana at Turning Stone in upstate NY. Both are about a 5hr drive from the east side CLE suburbs, which I don't mind for a weekend getaway.

Five and a half hours to the Greenbier.

Yes, Walden is close enough for daytrips, so it's definitely on the list. Thank you for the feedback on Hershey and Turning Stone...the latter, in particular, I never would have even considered (closest I've gotten to it is their gas station off the Thruway :))
