All in all, it is not worth any hassle even trying, IMO, unless you have too much time on your hands. Of course, if you are in T5, there is no harm in asking at gate M13, but prepare for a negative answer.
The "yes" answer was for access to the United Club. Also, there have been many reports of people going through ORD security at a different terminal than their departing flight. That doesn't mean TSA won't point out that you're in the "wrong" terminal but that's just to hightlight that you might be lost in the airport.

In my limited experience, the TTB staff are much more strict about a boarding pass for the proper terminal than TSA is.

As in, without proof of a flight necessitating taking the shuttle, you won’t get on. TSA likely will tell you you are in the wrong terminal, but just to make sure you are aware rather than trying to stop you.

I'm departing T5 on Qatar Airways on a Wednesday, departure time is 8PM. If I arrive at 5:45PM, is that enough time? (a bit over 2 hours) No precheck, no clear, economy class, US citizen. No checked bags, but I understand there's no online checkin, so I must physically go to a counter to get a boarding pass. I haven't flown out of T5 in a long time (pre-covid), not sure what it's like these days.

Arriving on a United Domestic at 530am, departing Turkish Business at 11:30am--would like to use Polaris lounge before heading to T5.
Issue is: TK wants to view the credit card used to purchase the ticket-which is no problem, however I'm suspecting they will not issue a mobile boarding pass until I visit the check in counter. Without the TK boarding pass I doubt UA will let me in Polaris.
Can anyone confirm the TK check in counter only opens 3 hours before departure, or do they use a shared Star Alliance counter at T5?

A quick update about United's recheck area. As of this morning United will be shifting things around outside the FIS area. They will be moving to the center common use positions while closing off their own for renovation work over the next few months. Staffing will be upped to help assist around the carousel area itself. If you're connecting, you'll be handled at the claim from what I was told and then directed to drop off your bags outside (either right or left) depending on how long your connection time is.

Was informed yesterday that ORD will be targeted for the GE mobil app project for GE travelers. It's not related to the mobil passport app, but designed specifically for GE users only.

This means, no using the kiosks, you'll use your smart phone instead to show the officer who usually calls your name. There is a time based component, but details will be forthcoming.

This may save you 10 seconds if you fly business class, and maybe a minute if you fly economy class.

I dont foresee the GE app providing me any consistent time savings for my entries at ORD over what I get with GE anyway, but Ill toy with it anyway from time to time just because.

Any word on whats going to happen with MPC at ORD? The time savings it used to provide at ORD is what I really miss at times.

Today, I arrived at T5 CBP and it was the worst that I had ever seen it (in terms of the line; the CBP staff were great). A long line went down the hallway prior to the arrival hall. Even people with Global Entry had to wait in the initial part of the long line. Following this, one had to go by a lot of places that did not look pretty because of construction, only for mobile passport to be closed. I used mobile passport earlier this summer at ORD and it was amazing, working really well. I asked about it and was repeatedly told that it was taken down because of the construction. Everyone who I spoke with wanted mobile passport to be back and was not happy about what construction did to the area.

Does anyone know how long that it will be this way, and when they plan to bring Mobile Passport back?

This strikes me as being about cost reduction more than anything else. Nothing's easier than walking up to a kiosk and looking at the camera, except the kiosk has to be bought and maintained. Basically they are just moving the kiosk from the CBP arrivals floor to your phone.

It was the same situation this afternoon. A huge slowly moving line. Wouldnt common sense say its more efficient to funnel as many US passport holders into the mobile passport line??
I felt bad for the red shirt customer agents trying answer the pleading questions about missed connections because of the CBP situation. Dont AA and UA have an interest in pushing ORD to make this more organized so they arent cleaning up all the missed flights? Perhaps not..

Im embarrassed as a US citizen at the situation.

It's going to be a few months like this. The good news is, that at the end of the month both carousels 8 and 9 and the large portion of the queuing area before the booths on the east side of the hall will reopen. There's a push between now and mid December when loads are lessening to advance work as much as possible.

I flew out of ORD last night to AKL on Air NZ and was directed at check-in (was flying business) to the TSA screening right at the Air NZ check-in area that would appear to be known as CP11 online.

It was literally 3 mins from check-in to sitting in the SAS lounge. There was only a couple of people at TSA in front so we were through there in 2 mins.

Does anybody know who is entitled to use this? Is this only for premium customers or select airlines?

In theory anyone, the push is usually to direct over to CP10, but if you're flying and checking in on the east side of the departures hall, always take a look to see how the lines are at CP11. There's no precheck or anything like that it's just two machines usually staffed from 1200-2000. (Times might vary too).

One a side note to the group...I've seen the plans for the front end expansion and they're glorious. It will be done in two phases, with phase one focusing on the east side of the building.
