MCI

Traveling Delta out of MCI today. 11:30 and all of the restaurants in and out of security are only serving drinks — no food.

Seems weird they’d continue to serve alcohol but not food.

This seems to be typical of MCI. The new terminal can't come fast enough!

MCI - New Terminal

Posting here since there aren't any terribly recent threads about the new MCI terminal, but for anyone who's interested in which airlines are located where in the new terminal, it's mentioned in a presentation (linked here) the KC Aviation Department gave to BA a couple months ago.

The new terminal will have five gates available for international flights.

Thanks for sharing; it's nice to finally see a layout showing each gates the airlines will be assigned.

MCI - New Terminal

The new terminal's opening date has been confirmed: Tuesday, February 28.

As luck would have it, a previously-booked trip has me flying back in that day, so here's to hoping that the baggage claim is functional. :)

Enjoy! I’m taking one of the first flights out and doing a quick turn. Should be fun!

Quick question, are local buses still free? KC website says through 2023, so checking to see if I need to bring some cash. Need to use 229 bus to/from the airport.

I’ve never been on the buses in KC, but everything I can find online says they are still free.

Thanks for following up. Handy for future reference.

I ended up getting the hotel shuttle, as flight arrival came after the scheduled service, and next bus was not due for another hour. Hotel asked me if I already got my bags...I was still deep in B concourse :) but knew I was good to go (without any checked luggage).
