Hotels near Chicago O'Hare international airport
I will be connecting at ORD ftom MAN to MCO in a few weeks. My AA flight leaves ORD at 18:50 and is the last flight. I have a connection time of 4 hours so I'm not particularly worried about that but wondered about a hotel just in case things don't go to plan - late flight/bad weather etc.
I see there are a lot of hotels about 1.8 miles from the airport. Has anyone stayed in any of them and can rec'd any of them please? Katie |
Your best bet would be the Hilton directly in O'Hare: http://www3.hilton.com/en/hotels/ill...HHH/index.html

Thank you ACA 321 & arollins - I agree the Hilton will be easiest and I will get the telephone number of the Sheraton 4 points but hopefully will not need them.

The ORD Hyatt Regency has generous offerings in the lounge, including free alcohol, IIRC 5-8 pm.

As this thread is not particular to any specific airline, it has been relocated to the relevant destination forum. A permanent link has been left in the originating forum for those searching there for hotels near ORD.

OP, if the on-site Hilton does not work out, there's a glut of respectable hotels in Rosemont, about a ten-minute shuttle ride from the terminals. Loew's, the Hyatt Regency, the Embassy Suites, Doubletree, etc. are all cheek by jowl there. All fine for the night, and they all have van services that will collect you for free from the airport's central "shuttle center."
As you won't know whether you even need a hotel until you've missed your MCO flight, at 700pm local or later, you might like to download the Hotel Tonight app in advance. It offers book-right-now discount deals for situations like this. Hopefully your connection will go fine though. |
Marriott Suites and Ren as well

Aloft in rosemont is good.

You can also walk to/from a nearby "EL" station rather than doing the hotel shuttle to the airport to catch public transportation to downtown Chicago, but I would not do this alone at night as there's an underpass.
That said, I wouldn't do it at night because it's an expressway underpass and you have to cross on/offramps that are not signalled and not well lit, so the risk is that you'll get hit by a speeding car while walking between the station and the hotel. And after all of that, I would say it depends on what time you can get a flight in the morning. If it's early, yes, stay close by, Hilton or closer. If you can't get a flight until later in the morning, try finding a cheap rate in the loop or michigan ave, have a nice dinner, etc. |
My go-to hotels at ORD are the Renaissance Suites, Marriott Suites & Springhill Suites. All run shuttles. W/ the Ren you can also take the blue line to the stop next to the Ren.
Cheers. |
