Rental car companies on airport at MKE

I'm flying into and out of MKE and will be renting and returning a car. What I need to avoid is a time-consuming shuttle bus to an off-site rental car lot. Could someone tell me if there is a central rental car center at MKE or if Hertz and Thrifty have desks in the terminal and their cars parked near the terminal?

Many thanks.

All of MKE's rental car companies are on-site and in the parking garage: Alamo, Avis, Budget,Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National, Thrifty. The counters are all on the front edge of the parking structure on the lower level. The cars themselves are on levels 1 and 2.

--If you don't have bags to claim, take the skywalk to the parking garage and before you enter the garage take the elevator or stairs down to the rental counters.

--If you do have bags to pick up, the rental car counters are directly out the doors and across the arrivals drive. They are in the front edge of the parking structure -- you can see them out the baggage claim windows across the drive.

If you are elite (like Avis Preferred, etc.) you can skip the counters, of course. Watch for signs on which level the cars are for you brand.

Rentals at MKE are very easy out / very easy return -- I've had longer walks (and even remote on occasion) at much smaller airports. So you should have no trouble.

Thanks, knope2001. This is most helpful, with information I didn't even know to ask about. I appreciate your taking the time to explain it all.
