"First Time ESTA" Line at O'Hare

Hi all,

When traveling into Terminal 5 at O'Hare, there are two lines at immigration:

1. Visa/First Time ESTA
2. American Citizen/ESTA

My question is, if you have had a previous ESTA on your current passport, but it expired so you have registered a new ESTA, which line do you use?

Thanks!

I was told that "returning ESTA" was by passport but this was by one of the people herding the crowds so don't trust it 100%. I'd use the 2. American Citizen/ESTA option. Queue is usually shorter and moves faster. Worse thing that can happen is that they send you to the other queue.
