[Uber] Black Car at O'Hare

Just a heads up that, if you request a black car at O'Hare and don't plug in your destination right away, the Uber driver will call you immediately (without fail) and request where you're going. I believe that the drivers are systemically weeding out shorter trips.

I suspect this as I live 6 miles from O'Hare and since that isn't a really appealing trip for a black car driver, I've found myself with a 50%+ failed ride rate on over 20 trips. I've received excuses including I'm not feeling well and would rather get home, I'm stuck in a really long line and can't get to you for at least XX minutes (one example was 10 minutes and I told him I'd wait and the second time I heard it was a 20 minute wait) and I've even had drivers cancel on me after we hang up.

Its garbage and I've taken it up with Uber.

They apparently do not get the destination until they start the trip, so I suspect you'll get the call even if you put in the destination.

Just make sure the driver cancels the trip; do not cancel the trip yourself. Uber monitors driver-initiated cancellations and will terminate drivers who cancel too many rides.
