Any wagering on whether Icelandair returns to Cleveland on March 22 as they claim?

I'd wager they will... if they averaged load factors in the 80's as they claim, it should be profitable for them to return. But the RNE in me says I shouldn't bet anything tangible on this outcome.

New food options coming to CLE this winter

Shake Shack is set to fly into Cleveland Hopkins International Airport this winter, along with three other new restaurants.

The juicy news was announced today that a multi-year contract was reached between Fraport USA and Skyport Hospitality, which will bring in a fresh and redone concession space to the airport.

...

Along with the famed burger chain, expect the following casual concepts: Wow Bao, Cantina Taqueria and Tequila Bar and 800 Degrees Woodfired Kitchen. No opening date is yet set for the new Cleveland Hopkins restaurants.

At least they offered me a full refund for my flight and vacation package with no hassle whatsoever. They did say the cancellation was due to "a reorganization of our route network," and noted flights would resume in March 2019 in their email communication.

I'm glad for you, but full refunds are routine in such cases. No accolades to FI for that. Still, I'm in no way knocking FI. I found the airline and its equipment to be quite good. Plus, KEF was far superior to EWR. I hope the airline returns to CLE in 2019. My concern all along, however, is the flying public's lack of appreciation for the boon FI is to this area.

RNE, a spring/summer/autumn travel to EU, so the decreased service is not important to me.

UA 2535 is the Cleveland Browns charter. The return flight EWR-CLE used a 757. Must be aircraft availability.

Noticed an all-white A330 parked on the ramp today. Anybody know what's up with that? Seatmate had the windows down so I couldn't get a tail # and my eyes aren't good enough to pick it out from the UC.

From another local plane spotters group's Facebook page: "Two unique visitors stopped by CLE this past week. The aircraft were Airbus A319-115/CJ, registered B-8319 (cn 4956), owned by SANY Group, and a privately-owned Airbus A330-202 registered VP-CBE (cn 1321), managed by Hongkong Jet. These aircraft likely brought VIP visitors to the Cleveland Clinic. One of these VIPs is thought to be Governor Xu Dazhe of the Hunan Province in China."

Thanks. Figured it was a wealthy clinic patient or some sort of charter.

Wow Bao is under construction in the old UA customer service desk area near C8. IIRC the sign said opening January 2019.

Are you able to book is one way to see. The city could use more service to Europe, something year round. Should be enough traffic to support this.

CLE-IAH

What up with CLE-IAH no early morning flight. I thought they were increasing flights. Looks like they are back in the schedule down the line.
