Integrys - Electric Aggregation Program

Just got a notice that my electricity supplier will be changing to Integrys and I will be automatically switched over unless I opt out.

Still pay my bills to ComEd though. Allegedly this will save money.

Anybody opting out, and if so, why?

I have been confused too, and basically am doing nothing.

i think we're now right on deadline to opt out - was it January 9??

We did opt out. It turns out that the savings is only on the actual energy portion of the bill, and everything else (line fees, taxes, service fees, etc., etc., etc.) stays the same. My bill isn't actually big enough that I'd expect any real difference.

But - I just can't trust the city that gave us $7.50 per hour parking meters that operate 24/7/365.

So you opted out purely due to spite? ;) :p

No. Lack of trust. There's no guarantee that the Imtegrys rates won't go up...business as usual in Chicago.

I think you can switch providers at any time, so if rates go up you can always go back to ComEd or whoever you want for the supply.
