Connection procedure terminal 5 Chicago ohare
Hi, I am traveling on a British airways flight under American Airlines on 26th December from London to Atlanta. I have a connection at Chicago ohare. As it is an international flight to domestic I will arrive at terminal 5 and I then need to catch my domestic flight at terminal 3. I would like to know the procedure on arrival at terminal 5. Will I have to claim and recheck my baggage ect? I also have 4 hours wait for my connection I am assuming this will be plenty if time. Look forward to hearing back from you all

Basically, you clear immigration, collect you luggage, clear customs and then recheck your bags at your connecting airline's counter in T5. Exit T5 with your carry on and catch the tram from T5 to T3 (the next stop). Assuming you have your boarding pass, at T3 you go straight to security and then on to your gate. As stated above, clear immigration, collect bags, clear customs, find the AA desk in the same area (before exiting the security door) and check your bags with them. They'll also give you the BP if you don't have one already. Exit the secure area, find the train to T3, go through security. You should have about 2 hours to enjoy the magnificent T3. :) Will I have to claim and recheck my baggage ect? Yes, but as stated above. Do not take your bags to T3 and recheck there. Recheck them in T5 itself. I also have 4 hours wait for my connection I am assuming this will be plenty if time. Plenty. You'll also be left with some time to enjoy the limited facilities offered by T3. :) I can recommend Tortas Frontera for high quality Mexican fast food. |
