Best airport lounge at DTW? for AA traveler?

Hi, I will be meeting a friend after a layover in DTW. I'm coming in AA, she's coming in DL. I'd like to buy a lounge daypass for the few hours in DTW, which lounge do you recommend?

AA and DTW are in different terminals -- AA is in the North one and Delta the South one and you'll need to take a shuttle bus to get to the one that Delta uses, then get a gate pass to get to one of four Delta Skyrooms.

They'll all about the same -- there are two at either end of the tram line on the A concourse and one on the C where the puddle jumpers come in and one near the security check point.

I recommend allowing an hour to go between terminals plus the time it takes to get through security (15 minutes ?)

Thanks for the tips, I hadn't considered that much travel time between terminals.

Will DL allow someone a gate pass who is not already a club member and is not flying DL? You might need to buy a fully refundable ticket to access the DL lounges in the McNamara terminal.

Hm. Are there ANY lounges in the North / AA terminal? I'm not sure I want to go to all that trouble

I don't know if this is viable for you but an alternative might be the Westin connected to the DL terminal. It has a nice lobby w/bar and it has it's own security lane to get back into the terminal. (Or at least it did-it's been a few yrs since I've been there.) You would still have to shuttle from the AA terminal though.

FTR there is a Lufthansa / Star Alliance lounge in the non-Delta terminal. I did not try to buy a day pass this trip so don't know if that is possible.

I don't think LH sells day passes, but that lounge is indeed nice for anyone flying *A

Can you buy a fully refundable ticket, use it to pass through security, and still get a refund? Is it difficult? I was thinking of doing this at LAX, I have a 6 hour layover and the *A lounge or the NZ lounge would be better than the US lounge. Not sure if *A can get into the NZ lounge or if it is only for C pax.
