IL House OKs slots machines at ORD/MDW

http://www.chicagobreakingnews.com/n...,2977112.story

Can't you believe IL house says OKs to brings slots machines 2 convenient locations at ORD/MDW airports. This is not a casino or theatre. What are you think about it?

Must be approved the senate & governor.

I'm wondering where they'll put the things at ORD. Inside existing eateries? In random locations along corridors? In the less-trafficked terminal-to-terminal connectors airside?

The other thing that concerns me is that it seemed like they were just getting ready to rework the food situation at T5 to provide airside restaurant options airside. I hope they don't decide to limit that to allow space for slot machines!

Absolutely horrible idea, but there isn't really much we can do about it. Next thing? Slots in the grocery stores like they have in Vegas. As long as they keep them out of the RCC I don't care.

I would hope in a far, out of the way area, but we both know that isn't going to happen.

What a nightmare.

perhaps facing the check-in counters at Terminal 1? You know, in that very spacious lobby.

Or maybe along the queues, so that people can gamble while they're waiting.

Why not.

because masses move slow enough at most airports including ORD, throw in bright lights & sound, the masses will move even slower. Slower = more time/more pain.

There is a bunch of extra space on the sides of the tunnel between B/C. Slots would fit right in with the flashing neon lights.

You have to hand it to Illinois politicians. Just when you think they can't get any worse, they find a way.

Yeah, it looks pretty much like a casino down there already.

"The moving walkway is now ending. Please play the slots."

Or maybe by the customer service counters. During irrops, long, slowmoving lines... hours with nothing to do. They could even have a machine where, instead of $, you win a flight.

Nooo, bad idea. You don't want to create a link between taxable gambling wins and frequent flier programs. The IRS drools at the thought of taxing FF miles.

I heard that the slots were going to be installed at every gate, and were going to be used to assign seats (3 "Lucky 7"s and you get the jump seat in the cockpit!).
