New Airline Coming to IND

Any ideas on who this might be?

Airport to announce new airline Wednesday

My wishful thinking list is either AS with service to SEA (they just announced STL) or JetBlue, though with DL and AA now offering JFK service and DL on the BOS route, might be a tough entry...thoughts?

Of course we are hoping for Jetblue?

Could be:

Allegiant?
Spirit?

Please be Virgin America!
Please be Virgin America!
Please be Virgin America!

I would considered B6 will eventually to come into IND. There is enough more gate space available in the concourse A. I think it would be great opportunity to see JetBlue is coming into the town.

No way will it be Allegiant. Indy totally doesn't fit their model. Plus, they fly out of SBN, so if someone wanted to fly Allegiant it's not that far of a drive, just an annoying one.

I'm gonna also say no to Virgin America. Except for their attempt to go to ORD, this truly is flyover country for them.

I doubt it will be Spirit, since they are just getting their flights going again after the strike last week.

At one time, I believe British Airways used IND, but that ship has probably sailed.

I do, however, really miss Cape Air's service. I could really use the IND-SBN flights, would save me having to drive up 31 to get to Notre Dame games.

A curious thing about one of the stories is that it refers to this new airline as an airline partner.

Do you really think former TZ will ever startup again? Just a speculating.

Indy Jun 22, 2010 10:59 pm

I seriously doubt this is the rebirth of ATA or any other startup. This just isn't the right time for any new airline.

Boyd speculates it may be an airline like Allegiant. Not sure I put much faith in Boyd when it comes to this sort of thing. But assuming he is right... what about Sun Country?

Sounds like that. I doubt G4 will announcement tomorrow to startup more new specific routes from IND. I would consider to start new routes IND-AZA/LAS/LAX/LGB/BLI/MYR/PIE. Just a speculating about the specific routes will be choose.

It is a total yawner. It will be less than daily service (A few times a week) to Branson, MO on Branson Air Express. It will be gone by this time next year.

All that hype and excitment for nothing. What a bummer. Must be a slow news day.

Is that real official news releases from Branson Air Express? Is that startup service IND-BKG, am I correct?

SomeGuy Jun 23, 2010 1:24 pm

Wasn't there supposed to be service from Terre Haute, IN to Branson? What happened to that?
