Things to see in CLE
 

I will be in downtown CLE this spring for a business weekend. I am planning on hitting up an Indians game, but was curious what else I should check out. Beyond the RocknRoll HOF, what else is worth seeing? The HIX downtown will be my hotel base, and I am looking for places from there that can be walked to.

Any suggestions?

Dinner at Lola's on West 4th.. Iron Chef Michael Symon's place.

If you love music you may want to consider the Cleveland Orchestra if they are in town. The Art museum is nice. There are some wonderful restaurants in the Flats. You can always get around on the Rapid, the train, to get to some areas if you wanted to wander around.

tondoleo is correct the orchestra is world class but the flats are no longer a destination, and haven't been for a while now.

Start with E. 4th st which is very close to your hotel...I would suggest the Hyatt if you have any flexibility, it is at the end of E 4th and houses the chocolate bar.

playhouse square is the second largest theater district in the country.

It is approximately at E 14th and Euclid.

about 1.5 miles due south of downtown in the Tremont Neighborhood about a $10 cab ride from downtown...if you think you will need a cab, PM me and I will give you the cell number of the guy I use, you don't want to rely on taxi dispatch or standing on the street with your arm up.

HISTORY OF THE UKRAINIAN MUSEUM-ARCHIVES

The Ukrainian Museum-Archives in Cleveland was founded in 1952 by displaced scholars who took on the mission of collecting and preserving items from Ukrainian history and culture during an era when this kind of material was being deliberately destroyed in Soviet Ukraine. Over the course of its first quarter century, the UMA compiled a huge collection that includes many rare, even unique items.

The museum sits on Lincoln Park, which was used as a civil war encampment for union soldiers.

Tremont also has 18 churches, including 6 catholic and 3 orthodox.

and the second Friday of every month (including May 8th) is the Art walk which is free and there are 2 bars/restaurants for every art gallery.
