MCI Cutbacks?
Read on USAToday that Midwest is planning cutbacks at MCI. I think eventually Midwest will be only playing out of Milwaukee and KC flights will only be to Milwaukee.

MCI cuts have been announce awhile back. Now with no new destinations from MCI coming down the pike, Midwest will have to layoff some people at the MCI station.
1) Elimination of non-stop flights to FLL, RSW, CMH, and COS. In the case of the first two destinations, loads were actually pretty good but fare levels just weren't cutting it in today's operating environment. 2) Reduced frequency to PIT, SAT, and MCO. Additionally, seasonal flight additions to SFO and LAX will not return this year. Earlier this year, Midwest had planned to add flights at MCI, both on mainline and SkyWest regional jets. Industry conditions have deteriorated rapidly in the last few weeks. It just doesn't make sense to be adding new routes right now. |

Unfortunate
I was really looking forward to expansion at MCI... bummer
Wonder if this means they will be a take over target again (since they aren't expanding anymore) |

Wonder if this means they will be a take over target again (since they aren't expanding anymore) Earlier this year, Midwest had planned to increase MCI flights with both mainline and regional jets. It just doesn't make sense to open new routes in today's environment. New routes are almost never profitable at inception. Midwest won't be a take-over target unless TPG/NWA decide to sell the airline to another party, which I don't see happening anytime soon. |

It's kind of funny when booking engines will sell you bizzare routing like that. I don't honestly believe they expect people to book that. The other six days of the week there is a normal 45-minute connection in Milwaukee to fly MCI-FLL.
