Self-Transfer Dubai

Hello,
I am looking at the following itinerary and would like thoughts on if it is feasible.
MIA - DXB Qatar Air : arrive at 7:00 PM
DXB - KTM FlyDubai: depart at 02:15 AM
(Separate tickets)
I will have to collect bags, clear customs and recheck with FlyDubai. US Citizen, so I can get Visa on arrival. I have self transferred in the US before, but never internationally, so looking for some input/advice.
Thank you

Should not be a problem. You have to go through immigration, collect bags, and change terminals, but there's an inter-terminal bus. You have plenty of time, assuming your inbound is not delayed more than 5 hours!

There is no landside inter terminal bus to T2, the OP will need to take a taxi (10-20 mins)
https://www.airport-dubai.net/bus.php

Last year I had to do T2-T3 at around midnight and took the N30 publlic bus that starts running after 9pm instead of a taxi, but you ll need to buy a Nol ticket for 5AED

DXB's website says there are 24-hour free buses between T1 and T3 and between T2 and T3. You can also take the Metro between T1 and T3. cdclean's QR flight will come into T1, but the KTM flight goes from T2. Since s/he has tons of time, getting from T1 to T3 and then from T3 to T2 should be possible with the free buses. Obviously, a taxi would be faster, but there doesn't seem to be much of a rush.

They were not running in Decmeber. Hopefully they will be for the OP.

March 2022 the landside transfer busses were also not running, despite the airport's website claiming otherwise. Only the airside busses were operational.
Perhaps you could contact the airport to confirm.

Flydubai has check-in counters in T3 for some flights that operate from there. Could the OP check in there and use the airside bus to get to T2? Or even use a transit desk in T3? This would be better for two reasons -- not have to self-transfer landside, and enjoy the superior environment and amenities in T3 before going to T2 closer to departure time -- but I suspect that the answer is no.
