55 minutes connection in Amman

Hello Guys,

I recently booked an award on RJ using American airlines miles.

DTW-AMM-AUH-AMD with AMM-AUH-AMD ON Etihad.

The connection in Amman is just 55 minutes. I checked the flight from DTW-AMM & it's late most of the days.

So I have 2 questions.

1). Is 55 minutes enough for a connection?
2). If the flight from DTW-AMM is late what happens & what carrier is responsible for the rest of the trip?

I am a little bit concerned as the 2 carriers might try to balme each other & I don't want to get stuck in that.
Any comments appreciated.

Cheers!

DTW-AMM also stops in YUL iirc. So plenty of opportunity for delays that will eat your 55 min connect time. Instead of planning for a misconnect, it would be less stressful to find an itin with more generous connect times.
