Bahrain: eVisa vs. Visa on Arrival

Seems like visitors can either get a visa on arrival or an e-visa.

Is there a meaningful difference? Is either more convenient or does lead to less wait times?

I am curious also for a trip later next week. Either or?

I did the eVisa and it was a smooth and easy process. Not cheap though.

The Visa on Arrival took all of 5 minutes when I landed this evening, and the fee was BHD 5 (c. USD 13) - not sure why it was so cheap, as I saw BHD 25 (c. USD 65) mentioned a number of times online.

Anyone have any further information and experience using the new Gulf Air free transit visa?
