Transit in Baghdad - Need Visa?

If I fly from Tehran to Sulaymaniyah through Baghdad, do I need an Iraq visa? Or, can I transit in Baghdad, and formally enter the country with a Kurdistan Region visa when I get to Sulaymaniyah?

I can get a visa on arrival in Sulaymaniyah, but I can't if I need to get through immigration in Baghdad? I don't know if the Baghdad --> Sulaymaniyah flight leaves from a domestic terminal, etc.

I found the answer separately through various means including PMs here (thanks!)

Transiting through Baghdad means getting an Iraq visa - so no visa on arrival. This doesn't fit into my current travel plans, so I will only be going to Iran on my next trip.

However, I've got the idea of going to Iraqi Kurdistan in my head now, and I think it's going to happen some day. It is quite easy and not too expensive to get there from the UK on Iraqi Airways. At least on Wednesdays.
